Choice Of Sport For PE

A hotly debated topic is the P.E curriculum in schools. I take the position that kids from middle school to high school. The reason why I think that junior school kids shouldn’t pick the sport that they want is because they are young so they are still exploring the sports that interest them.

I think that it is good for tweens to choose the choice of sports that they want to do because it will help them excel in those sports. It will also help their self esteem because they will get better, another reason why it is good is because they will realise that practice makes perfect. Hopefully they will start applying that knowledge to academics.

Playing the sports that they already know will improve their mindset. You might think that they should try and develop skills in many different sports. I disagree with this because during adolescence their focus improves and if you do a new sport every few months it won’t help them.

Like I said before during adolescence your focus improves. If you give them the choice of the sport that they want to participate in they will focus more in it since they enjoy it, but if you make them participate in sports they don’t want to participate in they will not put their best effort into it.

You might be thinking that there are some kids that don’t enjoy any sport, or close to any. There is many ways you can solve this problem. You can make an alternative group for those who dislike sport, you can also let them a certain subject that they like and help them focus on that.

Playing sports can also relieve stress. You might be thinking that playing any sport can relieve stress, but if they play a sport they dislike then they can get irritated if they dislike it or if they are not very skilled in that sport then it could and most likely make them more stressed.
